St. Joseph’s H. S., Piravom

Recognizing the importance of education for the progress of humanity, His Excellency Most Rev. Joseph MorSeverios founded the Piravom St. Joseph’s English-Malayalam Medium School. This esteemed school way founded on the 19th of May 1941, and recently crossed its 80th year in action. This institute was helmed during its founding by the late Rev. Fr. Jacob Thykkattil. In 1941, this institute started employing the curriculums which known as Malayalam high school and English high school. It started functioning with a Malayalam 8th grade class and an English 4th form class, a headmaster, a Malayalam pandit, and two graduate teachers. During those days, as there were no other high schools in their hometowns, students used to walk all the way to the school from the nearby regions. The institute boasts the acclaim of being the school with the most A+ grades in the Muvattupuzha educational district and continues to hold a 100% pass rate in the SSLC examination. The school surpasses excellence in their academic and cocurricular accolades, and in their social outreach. This institute has a rich history of notable alumni. The teamwork of a value-centric management, dedicated staff and an extremely supportive PTA is the secret to the success of the school. The school currently holds 15 classes, 504 students, 20 teaching staff and 4 non-teaching staff. Currently Sri. Daniel Thomas is the head of the institution. With the cooperation and support of the local community, the school continues to flourish and, with each passing year, surpasses its reputation as the best school in the region.
